• When you move into a new place you’re renting, take pictures of any and all damage, then post them on facebook (privately if preferred) so you can use the reference date as proof you didn’t do it.
• When searching plane tickets online delete your cookies prior, prices go up when you visit a site multiple times.

The Tumblr Legacy

How I came to create tumblr isn’t of interest at all. How I came to really use it is something worth noting. I started using tumblr because a girl I had once liked used it. We were at a Thai restaurant. I was with a group of students in the Cambodian Awareness Organization and this was our afterevent. (Wow, going back in time with an emotional eidetic memory is harder than I thought.) At some point, she and he were discussing, rather briefly, her tumblr account and how he had made one as well. That was when I was sure. I wasn’t yet consciously aware of it yet, but deep down I knew. Deep down I knew that my hopes had been over before they even began. Naturally, I came to use mine, one that I had created with inspiration from Jenna and Lina, previously. “Her” style and the therapeutic use of tumblr made it all so attractive. But then tragedy stuck my heart. My tumblr was not a place of happiness and certainly was not a place of joy. It became a breeding ground for every destructive coping mechanism you’ll ever learn of in your typical undergraduate psychology courses. From denial, to deflection, to displacement.. It was one hell of a ride.

It got better as the next best stories came along, but the more I recovered the deeper I became jaded following each one that came to an end. But this is no one’s fault, not even my own. It just so happens that the probable events of my life occurred in a fashion that enabled my already bitter predisposition to emerge.

Now here I am. Using an atmosphere that I had once started for her. But I will say that it is one I have adapted with my own originality. It is that originality, minus the bitter ramblings of a hopeless romantic, that led to the creation to an interesting tumblr, according to my friends. It is one of hope, one of intellect, and one of life. And that’s what I hope to continue form now on, a blog about the Sweet Life of a Hopeless Romantic and a Realist.
